Desert Watch (The Fall)
In the shadow of the sandstone fin, the red desert took on a darker shade. The air was calm while the gulley below was full of urgency.
The hiker had fallen from the height of a high rise. The trauma surgeon miraculously hiking nearby had done his best to stabilize the injuries while emergency services were in route, but chances of survival were slim.
