This piece is a call for the balanced masculine—a way of being rooted in honest relationship with our inner and outer worlds.
The sunrise that pierces the horizon symbolizes consciousness, “waking up” to how our views of masculinity have been harmful to everyone, men included. It is the light of self-knowing, of taking ownership of one’s inner shadows (guilt, rage, shame, grief, etc.) so they may no longer cause harm to self and others.
The wolfman is both animal and human to reflect our origins as children of the earth. We are not separate from or above the natural world, but an integral part of it. The wolfman kneels with Mother Nature’s roots in an act of groundedness, humility, and embodiment. He knows where he comes from, despite his technological advancements, and who he is: a relational being who respects others, the environment, and his own body.

While the healed masculine is for everyone, I speak specifically to men in this video because they typically occupy positions of power and privilege in our patriarchal society. My vision is for those at the top of the “food chain” to find healing, leading to a positive ripple effect that uplifts everyone.
